I made it!

I have finally made it through all 13 years at Calvary! Do I feel more accomplished? Do I feel older/more mature? Do I feel different? What am I going to do with the beginning of the rest of my life? These questions have all been asked to me within the last 48 hours of my life, and honestly? nope. Don't feel different, more accomplished, more mature..but yes I do know what im going to do with the beginning of the rest of my life. Ironically, the people who have asked me are unwilling to accept my answer. And what might that be? I have sacrificed the riches of this world to store up greater treasures in heaven, and follow the path that i ever so clearly feel that God has called me to. I am very satisfied to say that I plan to be spending the next two years of my life attending Bible college with the purpose and intent of strengthening my faith in my God and learning to walk closer and more intimately with him each day of my life. Josh also attends the Bible college so it will be a great time for the both of us to be able to grow together spiritually in this ever so important area of our lives.

On a lighter note...I bought THE SWEETEST camera today, fully paid for with my graduation money. It is a Nikon D40 for those of you who have an appretiation for that kinda thing. Let me just say..I am stoked.

Happy Fathers Day

Today we went to my grandparents retirement home to spend lunch with my grandpa for fathers day. He has dimensia so I never know if he will remember me. Sometimes he will remember half way through our visit, its quite funny actually. Anyways, towards the end of our delicious lunch of el pollo loco, an old couple (what am i saying..its a retirement home..of course their old) came outside near where we were eating. it was the cutest thing to see, becuase the husband had brought out a music box and was playing some oldies music for his beloved wife. they were adorable sitting there listening to their music as he tenderly held her hand and affectionatly talked with her. thats what i picture life being like when i get old. sitting outside with my husband as he romantisizes with me about the past...and still ever so tenderly holds my hand.

A Day in the life of Rachel and Natasha

Natasha is almost 22 months now! crazy thought. I started babysitting her at 9 months of age, and have been watching her at least two days a week ever since. :) She is a lot of fun, especially now that she is trying SO VERY HARD to talk. Here are some highlights from our week:

Nathasha has transitioned into a little girl bed after her mother witnessed her straddeling the edge of her crib trying to escape. As you can see she is very pleased with her new bed.

Yes, that is pasta reminense on her face.

Sometimes we do leg lifts together...and sometimes she does them on her own. :)

Disneyland

I can't think of a better way to end my week than to go to Disneyland with Josh. Last night Josh had the night off (which seems like the first evening off since he started working at Salvation Army, which was really special). We had a lot of fun.

We went on Dumbo and took the sickest pictures while on the ride!

kitty!

So the last few days have been very interesting. My dad was taking out the trash monday night and a girl wandered up to him, crying profusely. In between tears she explained that her foster mom would not let her keep this baby kitten she had just been given and wanted to find someone to watch him for her until she moved in with another family so that she did not have to leave the kitty out on the streets that night. My father had compassion on this girl and told her we could keep the kitten for her this week until she moved.

In the morning, I went into the garage where we kept him in a crate that night before, to hear him crying with what was left of his scratchy voice (apparently he had cried all night and lost his voice. it was quite funny actually). Long story shorter, the girl came and picked him up yesterday afternoon saying that her teacher at school was going to keep the cat. I was kinda disapointed, becuase he is so adorable and loving. I left the room where we were keeping him yesterday only to here him start waling for me to come back, and when I did he immediatly started trying to climb up my pant leg for me to hold him. How can you not fall in love with something so precious and playful?

Here we go!

Hello world! I have had so much fun looking at my freinds blogs, that i thought it would be fun to start my own. Currently, my life is pretty regular and mundane. It consists of summer college classes (today was my last day of high school!!!), regular weekly babysitting jobs (yes, that is how i make my money right now), spending weekends with my boyfreind, and devoting the rest of my spare time to my freinds.
